Kansas State Wildcats

The Kansas State University Wildcats represent their school in the NCAA's Division I in the Big 12 Conference. The Royal purple, silver and white Kansas State Wildcats are made up of sixteen varsity teams, including basketball and football.
   
The Wildcats basketball team began competing in 1902 and has a long history of success. Over the years, the Wildcats basketball team has captured 17 conference titles and has appeared in 23 NCAA basketball tournaments, the last one being in 2008. The Wildcats basketball team has also reached four Final Fours, 11 Elite Eight games, and the Sweet Sixteen 15 times. The Kansas State Wildcats football team began play in 1896. Over the years the Wildcats football seasons have had minor ups and major downs, until 1998 when Bill Snyder came on as head coach. Snyder turned their terrible record around in ten short years making the Wildcats football team the #1 national ranked team. They also captured the Big 12 Conference championships in 2003. The Wildcats football team play in the Bill Snyder Family Stadium in honor of their great coach.
