Zaire Jamal Taylor was born on Aug. 30, 1986 and is currently a point guard on the Missouri Tigers basketball team. Since beginning his college basketball career at Delaware in 2005, Zaire Taylor has proven to be a powerhouse on the basketball court. Right out of his Staten Island high school, Taylor decided to join the Delaware squad before transferring to Mizzou.

As a freshman at Delaware, Taylor started 25 out of the 30 games he played in and earned the CAA All-Rookie team award. This outstanding basketball success carried into his next season with the Delaware Blue Hens when he ranked among team leaders in assists and steals per game. Zaire Taylor decided to transfer to Mizzou in 2007 where he was redshirted due to conference transfer rules.

When given his time to shine as a senior with the Missouri tigers, Zaire Taylor was named to the Big 12’s All-Rookie team and the Big 12 Championship’s All-Tournament team. Starting 37 of 38 games, Taylor led the Big 12 and ranked #5 nationally in assist/turnover ratio. With the perfect body type for a basketball defender, Taylor will be battling it out for the All-Defensive honors this season.
